Get ready for recital!  Your child's hard work is almost ready for performance!  Please make sure June 22nd is free on your calendar.  Your child's sense of pride and accomplishment is well deserved.  Plan on arriving between 1:30 and 1:45 @ the Elks club on S. Main in Wallingford, we start promptly at 2 p.m.  Refreshments immediately following.  Your family recital fee is included in your May tuition amount, and helps defray the cost of the hall, programs, flowers, refreshments and more!  Please note that Jay will be photographing the event, so you don't have to!  We will email photos to your home email addresses, or we can have them printed for a small fee if you prefer.

Also, a brief reminder about summer schedule.  Lessons are given year round, and it is common for some families to make the decision to 'take the summer off'.  This is hard on your child's progress, if you 'don't use it, you lose it!'.   This sets the child back MONTHS upon return, and become quite discouraging for both child, parent AND teacher.  (Hey, that's ME!)

I encourage people to take vacations, and with the less stressful summer months, I will be able to reschedule missed lessons much easier.   (I myself will be taken 2 - 3 weeks off in July/August, and I do not charge when I do not teach)  Let's look forward to some fun and educational summer lessons.

As a bonus, all students who study with me this summer privately also get to come to a private 'Summer Student Only" Party held in early September (more info to follow) AND they will all be part of a special CD recording that features EACH of their recital pieces.  More info on that to come soon!

If you are still sure that 'taking the summer off' is what your family needs to do, please know that I love working with your children, and hope to work with them in September.............but I cannot 'hold' student's school year time in anticipation of them returning.  I am still running a business for profit, and will need to open any empty lesson times to potential students on my waiting list or new inquiries.  I thank you for your understanding in this circumstance.

Wow, it's been a while since I blogged!  That's because we've been so busy, here with Kindermusik and Private lessons.  Let's see........what to share first.  We have full spring classes, and a waiting list for all private lessons.  Business wise, things are looking GREAT!

The Walsh family has just welcomed a new son to their family, and the Spadacenta's welcome a new baby girl!  How exciting.

Our summer programs are up for registration, and our Toddler class is already half full!    We have a wonderful drumming circle program for preschooler's, and half day programs for children from 4.5 - 10 years, with Music Around the World, Native American Studies and Fairy World as the themes.

I pride myself on the creativity involved in designing these programs, and hope that you and your child will sign up and join us this summer.

We also have fiddlestix, our fiddle camp intensive, with a performance scheduled on the Town Gazebo August 15th.

Sing with you soon!

What a GREAT Open House we had.  Kindermusik and private students combined, to all do musical games and listen to great music!  Don't forget the food!  And when Santa and Mrs. Claus rode by in their horse drawn carriage (along with Rudolph and Frosty leading the parade) I don't know who was more excited, Ricky or myself!

A great big thank you to all of our performers.  Alkesandra, Evan, Ben, Rebecca, Amanda, Sabrina, Heather, Rachel, Larissa, Jason,  Dan, Bree, April, Emily, Lily, Nick, Shane and Alexander.

On another note, we will be holding a food and gently used clothing drive for the Wallingford Pantry "Master's Manna".  I know that you are all generous people, and hope that in the spirit of the season, you will all do what you can.  A collection box is now in the waiting room.  If you have your child show me the donation, they will receive a coupon worth $5.00 off their next Kindermusik semester, or their private lessons for the month of February.   Thank you so much in advance for your thoughtfulness and generosity.
